Ok, so almost 2 months after I published this article I today removed my Flattr button. Times I have been Flattred = 0. Times I have Flattred others = 2. This could obviously be due to people not liking my content, but that doesn't really explain why I haven't Flattred others content more. The truth is I have seen/read lots of great content out there, but that they have been without Flattr buttons.

I therefore have to conclude that it might be this is not mature enough just yet to be adopted by the general public, regardless of it being a good idea, and regardless of how many Karma points one would earn.

We would love to hear back from you about your thoughts on our software!

Nor have I been flattr-ed. It could of course be a testament to our content, and that people find it to be unworthy to support. However, I think the biggest issue is that it right now is a thing for content creators only (whereas most of the rest of the world are not content creators, only consumers), who hope others would sign up AND find our content to be worthy enough to Flattr. I have seen the Flattr buttons on a few sites, but hardly many. Some of those sites I didn't think the content was worthwhile (for me, personally) and thus I have only Flattr-ed someone else's content once so far.
